The Armed Forces Foundation is proud to announce the donation of a 1950 General Motors Futurliner by Ron Pratte, a Chandler, AZ developer and philanthropist, for the Barrett-Jackson 44th annual Scottsdale auction in 2015.
“Ron is a patriot and a true friend to our service members and their families. He’s always been one to shy away from awards or any type of public acknowledgement,” continued Driscoll. “He gives from his heart.”
Ron, an Army Veteran who served in Vietnam in 1968 with the 1st Air Cavalry Division, can truly relate to the difficulties service members experience. The 1950 GM Futurliner, one of 12 built with only three fully restored, was purchased by Pratte at the 2006 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction for $4.2 million. This is the eighth straight year the AFF and Barrett-Jackson have partnered together.
