Purple Heart Ride raises funds for the Armed
Forces Foundation. The AFF and Blue Knights of Maryland Purple
Heart Ride will help military families pay room and board at the
Navy Lodge.
The Armed Forces Foundation has again partnered with the Maryland
Blue Knights, Chapter IX Motorcycle Club to continue the tradition of uplifting
and supporting our wounded service men and women who have served our nation
with great valor.
Last year, the Armed Forces Foundation/Blue Knights International
Motor Club Purple Heart Ride drew the attention of 200 motorcyclists to
the stories of pain and perseverance facing the wounded.
The stories of hope and healing are never far from the smiles brought to
the faces of our soldiers when they see the outpouring of support by total
strangers; strangers who make it their duty to show gratitude to those
who give so much.
This event allows a group of military supporters to couple
a cause they are passionate about supporting with a hobby they love; and
the results are tremendous. The Purple Heart Ride generates thousands of
dollars in monetary assistance each year. This money goes directly into
the hands of those who need it.
